Persistent overweight
When structured attempts at nutrition and exercise have led to limited or hard-to-maintain weight loss.
Clinical weight-loss program
A 12-month plan to lose fat and preserve muscle mass, with medical follow-up, nutrition, exercise and GLP-1 or GLP-1/GIP agonists when indicated.
of Portuguese adults live with overweight or obesity.* Understanding the clinical causes of each case is what makes a plan truly effective.
* National Health Survey (INS)The program
The goal is to create a safe, sustainable strategy adapted to each woman's body, life stage and context.
Initial medical consultation, clinical history, life stage and body composition.
Choice of pathway with or without GLP-1 or GLP-1/GIP agonists, always by medical indication.
DEXA, InBody and effort monitoring document progress, response and lean-mass preservation.
Program structured in 3 phases across 12 months with adjustments to progress and goals at each phase.
What the evidence shows
In phase-3 studies with GLP-1 and GLP-1/GIP agonists, average weight loss at around 72 weeks ranges from 15.4% to 21.6% of starting weight. For the first time, weight-loss pharmacotherapy shows evidence comparable to bariatric surgery results.
For a 85 kg woman, this means reaching 66 kg. Beyond aesthetics, it's reversing pre-diabetes, restoring fertility, reducing cardiovascular risk and significantly improving quality of life.
Average results from GLP-1 and GLP-1/GIP agonist clinical trials (SURMOUNT-5 study). Eligibility and individual response are assessed in medical consultation. The pathway without pharmacotherapy targets a 5–10% sustained weight loss through a healthy lifestyle, with focus on nutrition and physical exercise.
Lean mass is what protects against the yo-yo effect. That's why the program includes prescribed exercise in all phases — even during maintenance and medication tapering.
Reduced blood pressure, improved lipid profile and insulin sensitivity. Improved fatty-liver markers. Restored menstrual regularity in PCOS cases.
A 5–10% weight loss can restore ovulation in PCOS, ease menopause symptoms and support postpartum recovery without compromising breastfeeding.
Who it's for
WeightLoss+ is suitable for women with overweight, obesity, body-recomposition goals, or metabolic and hormonal changes that influence weight. Especially appropriate when previous attempts have made results hard to achieve or maintain.
How the program works
Over 12 months, the plan evolves according to clinical results, body composition and response to follow-up. The monthly fee tracks the intensity of each phase.
The team establishes the baseline and starts nutrition and prescribed exercise. Includes consultations, pathway definition, DEXA, InBody, Myzone MZ-Switch band and access to the Healthy Life online exercise platform. Also includes participation in Cozinha360 — a workshop specialized in Culinary Medicine.

With or without GLP-1 or GLP-1/GIP agonists
The program phases are common to both. When there is medical indication for GLP-1 or GLP-1/GIP agonists, the follow-up is reinforced with prescription, dose adjustment and nursing support.
Pathway A
For women advancing without pharmacological therapy, by preference or absence of medical indication. Built on the full WeightLoss+ clinical base: follow-up by Family Medicine / Lifestyle Medicine, body composition by DEXA and InBody, nutrition, prescribed exercise and support resources such as the practical Cozinha360 workshop.
Pathway B
When there is medical indication, GLP-1 or GLP-1/GIP agonists are integrated as a complement to the WeightLoss+ clinical base. Beyond body composition, medical follow-up, nutrition, exercise and the practical Cozinha360 workshop, this pathway includes prescription, dose adjustment, nursing support and response monitoring.
Eligibility for GLP-1 or GLP-1/GIP agonists is assessed in consultation, based on metabolic profile, BMI, clinical history and individual safety. Not every woman has indication — that's why the clinical assessment always comes first.
GLP-1 and GIP are hormones involved in appetite and metabolism regulation. Therapies acting on these pathways can support weight loss in eligible people, but do not replace nutrition, prescribed exercise and medical follow-up.
Clinical follow-up

The team
Physician, nutritionist and exercise physiologist work together to adjust the plan at each phase.
Family Physician · Portuguese Medical Association no. 66474 · International Certification in Lifestyle Medicine by IBLM · Competence in Nutrition, Portuguese Medical Association · PhD in Nutrition, FMUL
Coordinates the medical assessment and clinical vision of the program. Integrates metabolic profile, clinical history, life stage and body composition to define the most appropriate pathway, with or without GLP-1 or GLP-1/GIP agonists when indicated.
Nutritionist · University College London · NHS Royal Free Hospital
Builds the nutrition plan based on clinical context, goals and body composition data, integrating scientific evidence, metabolic health and prevention of weight-related complications.
Nutritionist · Weight management and body composition · Women's Health
Supports day-to-day nutritional adaptation, focused on weight management, women's health, hormonal balance and sustainable food choices at each life stage.
Exercise Physiologist · Weight management and metabolic disease
Prescribes and adjusts exercise according to program phase, body composition, effort response and muscle-preservation goals.
Additional clinical network
Endocrinology, psychology and dermatology available when weight intersects other areas of health — always in coordination with the WeightLoss+ core team.
Clinical and Health Psychologist
Supports the psychological process associated with weight loss — relationship with food, motivation, emotional regulation and adaptation to change. Available when clinically indicated.
Endocrinologist
Manages clinical situations where weight interacts with diabetes, thyroid disease, pituitary changes and other metabolic and hormonal issues. Coordinates with the WeightLoss+ team when the endocrine picture requires specialist assessment.
Dermatologist
Addresses skin changes that may arise after weight loss — loss of elasticity, facial firmness, the need for adapted care. Approaches each case with rigorous diagnosis and advanced techniques, focused on health, regeneration and rejuvenation, with a natural aesthetic vision.
Body composition tools
DEXA, InBody and Myzone help distinguish total weight, fat, lean mass and training intensity, to adjust decisions across phases.
Whole-body scan that measures fat mass, lean mass and visceral fat, documenting progress beyond total weight.
Segmental bioimpedance that tracks muscle mass, body water and distribution, helping understand how the body responds to the plan.
Heart-rate band that records effort zones during training, allowing exercise prescription to match the body's actual response.
Prescribed exercise
Exercise is prescribed and reviewed by the physiologist based on goals, body composition and effort data. Between sessions, the online platform supports training continuity.
Logs effort zones in real time, to confirm whether training intensity matches the prescription and adjust the plan when necessary.
Included for 12 months. Yours to keep upon completing the program.Brings together live sessions, recordings, a training library and supporting content to maintain continuity between consultations.
Access activated at the start of Phase 1.Sessions with the physiologist to define the plan, review Myzone data, adjust intensity and tailor training to each phase.
6 sessions across 12 months.

Each phase includes 3 nutrition consultations, 2 fifteen-minute video follow-ups and 2 one-on-one sessions with the exercise physiologist.
Exercise follow-up is complemented by access to the Healthy Life online platform, with training and supporting content between sessions.
In Pathway A, Phase 1 includes one follow-up; in Phases 2 and 3, a consultation plus follow-up. Pathway B adds 2 monthly follow-ups in Phase 1 and a medical consultation in each subsequent phase. Medical follow-ups will preferentially be conducted via video consultation of up to 15 minutes.
One DEXA scan per phase and an InBody380 measurement at every medical or nutrition consultation. Myzone equipment provided on rental. After 12 months it's yours to keep. If you interrupt before the end, the equipment must be returned.
GLP-1/GIP agonists, laboratory tests and complementary exams, when prescribed, are purchased or performed separately. Psychology, endocrinology and dermatology consultations are not included in the program.
No. Pathway A is built on nutrition, prescribed exercise and medical follow-up — without any medication. Medication is a clinical option, never an imposition. The decision is made together with the physician at the assessment consultation, based on individual clinical profile.
The assessment consultation includes a full clinical evaluation with the physician — metabolic and lifestyle profile — InBody body composition and prescription of laboratory tests. DEXA is performed at the start of the program (Phase 1), together with the lab tests, and is included in the monthly fee.
The answer always depends on the person, chosen pathway and life stage. There is no universal timeline — the team documents progress with DEXA, InBody and clinical follow-up at each phase.
In Pathway B (with GLP-1 or GLP-1/GIP agonists), the clinical literature shows clinically significant weight loss from the first weeks of treatment, with sustained progression across the first 12 to 18 months (STEP and SURMOUNT studies). Eligibility and individual response are always assessed in medical consultation.
There is no yearly commitment. Engagement is phase by phase. At the end of each phase, the team performs a clinical review and decides together with the patient on progression to the next — always based on measurable results.
No. GLP-1 or GLP-1/GIP agonists are purchased at the pharmacy with medical prescription. The Pathway B monthly fee covers the clinical follow-up of the therapy — not the medication itself.
Each consultation is billed independently by Clínica Mulher. Reimbursement eligibility depends on each policy's conditions.
